Privacy and consent

What Encounter keeps, and what you tell the patient.

Consent. Before the first recording Encounter asks you to acknowledge that voice recording captures the audio of the encounter to generate a transcript and note. You are responsible for making sure the patient is aware, per your facility’s policy.

What happens to the audio. It is encrypted at rest and accessible only to your account.

Everything else. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), and runs in U.S.-based, HIPAA-compliant data centers. Encounter Templates holds no patient data at all.

Details are on the Security and Privacy pages.
